Nurse Life Care Plans

The Nurse Life Care Plan process follows the standards set forth by the American Association of Nurse Life Care Planners (AANLCP®) to support individuals who have sustained a catastrophic injury or illness.  In the course of estimating medical and non-medical needs of the client throughout his or her lifetime, nurses conduct client interviews and collaborate with various healthcare providers. Furthermore, the Nurse Life Care Planner may be requested to discuss the Life Care Plan in a court trial and be designated as an expert witness.

Life Care Plan Reviews

A Life Care Plan Review is requested when the opposing counsel has completed a Life Care Plan in a litigated case.  A Life Care Plan Review is then appropriate in assisting the attorneys and insurance carriers in preparation for the settlement or trial process. Also, the Nurse Life Care Planner may be requested to discuss the Life Care Plan Review in a court trial and be designated as an expert witness.

Medical Cost Projections

Medical Cost Projections and Medical Cost Only Projections are often referred to as an abbreviated Life Care Plan. However, the purposes of these reports differ slightly from an LCP.  RN Law has extensive knowledge in projecting care with costs and can guide you to the correct report type for your injury case.

Medicare Set-Asides

Post settlement, certain cases benefit greatly from having funds pulled from the sum to ensure that medical needs will be met in the future.  If funds are not set aside, Medicare can take legal action to recover funds and Medicare benefits can be negatively impacted in the future. Medicare Set-Asides (MSA) can be complex.  RN Law specializes in guiding you through the entire process.

Case Management

RN Law’s case management services are utilized in a variety of settings for both acute and chronic care to coordinate service options to meet the comprehensive healthcare needs of the patient. RN Law offers case management during a claim/litigated case. RN Law also offers case management services within a structured settlement to maximize benefits.

Patient Advocacy

RN Law patient advocates have the tools to ensure a patient is taken care of from their diagnosis through their treatment, recovery, and follow-up visits. We most commonly assist those with chronic illnesses, multiple illnesses, or life-threatening conditions.  We assist with many aspects of a patient’s medical care to make it a little less complicated.
